Burlington, Ontario, Sept 30, 2010: Enabled through a grant from the Ontario Power Authority and under the direction of Dr. Rupp Carriveau, the University of Windsor developed an innovative course in energy management. The Advanced Professional Certificate in Energy Management (APCEM) is a short course that integrates theory and case study with support for in-field implementation of real energy management projects.
The course was developed and delivered by experts from both academia and industry. In order to provide guidance on the business approach to energy management, the University of Windsor enlisted the experience and expertise of 360 Energy, their President & CEO, David Arkell, and their team of technical experts. 360 Energy believes in ongoing education and continuous improvement in the energy industry and as such, was more than happy to participate in such a forward-thinking course.
Through APCEM, the University of Windsor provides one year of support through classmates and instructors via their web-based learning system. 360 Energy will be participating in this support period and providing ongoing mentoring for students as they develop their energy management programs.
The course was most recently held this month from September 20 to September 22 and was considered a great success with participants coming from a wide variety of sectors and positions. 360 Energy President & CEO, David Arkell, stated that “It was a great opportunity to share the latest in energy management research and best practices with organizations looking to save energy and improve their sustainability. We look forward to working with the course participants over the next year to complete their energy management plans, and to provide energy reporting and additional support where required.”
