360 Energy, Partners in Project Green (a Toronto Region Conservation Authority initiative), and EMC (Excellence in Manufacturing Consortium) have partnered to offer the 360 Energy Coach Program. Aimed at continuous improvement organizations, the program teachs and mentors companies that are keen to manage and reduce their energy costs.
A 3-step approach to creating and implementing an energy plan
Participants in the program will focus on five key areas of energy management while assessing their current energy management initiatives by developing a scorecard and baseline map of their current activity. Exposure to over 60 world-wide best practices and energy saving techniques will motivate companies to capitalize on missed opportunities while identifying what internal resources they have available to generate sustainable savings. All participanting organizations will complete the following steps:
Step 1 - A pre-workshop assessment and site visit outlining an inventory of your company’s current energy management strengths and weaknesses.
Step 2 - The SEP Workshop (two participants) are exposed to world-wide best practices in energy management and start the development of their energy plan that will cover areas such as an energy mandate, data management, supply management, energy use in facilities, equipment efficiency, and organizational integration. A hard copy version of the best practices learned from the workshop will be provided for each participant. This will enable them to plan their attack based on elements not currently being implemented.
Step 3 - After completion of the workshop, 360 Energy will mentor your energy team (up to 20 people) for 120 days to assist them in completing their energy plan, integrate conservation concepts, and begin implementing the action plan based on the opportunities learned from the workshop.
After completion of all three steps, 360 Energy is available to assist your energy team with technical expertise in any manufacturing processes, project management for initiative launches, and measurement and verification training to keep track of current and future activity.
