Burlington ON, August 28, 2008: Energy conservation has increasingly become a key focus for industry in B.C. With financial assistance from B.C. Hydro, a continued concern for the environment, and a strong focus on reducing energy costs and consumption, Western Forest Products are taking steps in developing a sustainable energy plan and an effective energy management strategy.
Facilitated by 360 Energy, participants will undertake a process of completing a Sustainable Energy Plan. The participants are exposed to over 50 world-class energy management best practices and complete their own energy performance scorecard. The results identified lead to actions that can be taken to improve energy efficiency and cost avoidance activities.
The workshop engages employees with discussion around energy conservation and cost reduction while bringing awareness to the topic and how each individual has a role to play in the day-to-day operations of a company.
“Industries across the country are beginning to see there are options for them in how they use and manage energy. Sustainable energy planning is a great starting point for all organizations, being able to prioritize energy ideas and actions that will be taken, and enlisting help from others for implementation. It creates a real team environment and Western Forest Products is demonstrating their effectiveness at being a leader in their industry and community,” says David Arkell, President of 360 Energy Inc.
