Burlington ON, July 23, 2008: Across the country energy conservation has continued to be a key focus for both industry and municipalities. With financial assistance from Union Gas, Enbridge Gas Distribution, and the IESO, 360 Energy and EMC hosted another successful sustainable energy planning workshop.
Gerdau Ameristeel, Kellogs, and Conestoga Meat Packer, were among the participants who joined in the 1-day event focusing on developing a sustainable energy plan and an effective energy management strategy.
The participants are exposed to over 50 world-class energy management best practices and are encouraged to complete their own energy performance scorecard. The results identified lead to actions that can be taken to improve energy efficiency and cost avoidance activities. To capitalize on the momentum, 360 Energy has recommended that those in attendance complete their energy plan within 60 days.
One participant mentioned the workshop had “timely information presented in a clear and concise manner. It will definitely assist us in developing our strategic energy plan and moving forward, to reduce consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.”
Ed Reimer, Account Executive from Enbridge stressed that “the material in the workshop is really quite powerful and is presented in a dynamic, professional, & realistic manner that kept people focused and interested.”
“Organizations across the country are beginning to realize there are options for them in how they use and manage energy. Sustainable energy planning is a great starting point for all organizations, being able to prioritize energy ideas and actions that will be taken, and enlisting help from others for implementation. It creates a real team environment and these companies are demonstrating their effectiveness at being leaders in their industry and community,” said David Arkell, President of 360 Energy Inc.
