EMC & 360 Energy: Helping Canadian Manufacturers make a quantum leap forward in energy best practices
Owen Sound & Burlington ON: Excellence in Manufacturing Consortium (EMC) and 360 Energy Inc. are pleased to announce the official launch of their new joint energy program, as part of a comprehensive energy initiative developed for EMC members and Canadian manufacturers.
The new program is called The Energy Coach™ and represents a quantum leap forward in energy management best practices. The program will enable EMC members to become more competitive, identify key improvement opportunities for energy planning, utilization and metrics and will potentially reduce their manufacturing input costs, relating to energy consumption and environmental footprint.
The Energy Coach™ was developed by 360 Energy Inc., one of Canada’s top energy firms. EMC is working with this leading organization to provide manufacturing-specific expertise in energy best practices, market data and intelligence, training & coaching, auditing and leading-edge energy strategies for EMC members.
“We are very pleased to be a part of EMC’s new energy initiative” said David Arkell, President and CEO of 360 Energy Inc. “We are looking forward to being able to assist EMC and their members through our energy management services.”
“EMC’s new energy initiative is a three-phase approach that was driven by a study of our member’s needs,” said Al Diggins, EMC President and General Manager. “Only 30% of our members identified having the necessary internal resources to tackle energy management best practices effectively, leaving a significant portion of our membership looking to EMC help find a manufacturing-specific solution.”
“The rising cost of energy remains a key concern for our members,” said Scott McNeil-Smith, EMC Director of Marketing & Development and project leader for EMC’s energy initiative. “We are looking at both sides of the energy meter. By helping manufacturers to strategically manage their energy usage – enterprise wide - this innovative program enables our members to engage world-class best practices, reduce overall energy costs, and implement considerable improvements that will reduce their environmental footprint.”
EMC and 360 Energy Inc. are hosting a free online webcast: Tuesday April 15, 2008 @ 1:00 PM to provide manufacturers with an informative energy briefing on these issues and the opportunities available to them. The session will look at how to turn study into action, discuss “why status quo is no longer acceptable.”
